At the beginning of the last century Roman sources were discovered, Fons Romanus, with the remains of a bathing basin and 4th century coins, which testify that even Romans used balneotherapy. Exceptional quality of the Vrnjacka Banja water was only established in the 19th century, when the Saxon geologist, at the request of Prince Milos, performed mineral analysis. These waters were compared with the waters of the famous Karlovy Vary.

Today, the natural factor is used within the health center “Merkur” with a beneficial effect on healing numerous diseases such as: diabetes, diseases of the digestive organs, sterility. This health center includes wellness and relaxing contents, as well as individual use of aromatic oils, massage, saunas, romantic facilities in the Queen and the Royal Bath.

A special attraction is Belimarkovic Castle, a magnificent building built of white marble, with a double staircase in the style of Italian villas. It has archaeological, historical, artistic collection and is a monumental ambience for concerts and exhibitions.

The Goc Mountain is located 15 kilometers away, with conifers, oak and beech forests, running paths. It is a real challenge for nature lovers. Sports enthusiasts can use some of the five ski slopes, cable car and a ski lift in the winter.
